© Lionel Beck - North Yorkshire - UK Lost and Found Loss of a loved one rent my soul. Life lost meaning and blackness reigned. Despair, the destroyer of visions good Ruled like a demon and drained my soul. Loneliness, fear and anguish tarnished the day Making life an existence of pain and despair What’s left in a world bereft of her That made my very being alive and whole? To whom can I look for guidance and love? Cousins, friends? - Oh yes they care, But needs spread way beyond this pair Where lies now the path to rightfull joy? Waiting in the wings an unknown friend Perchance to meet and share our dreams. Like me, love and pain inextricably linked. She searches for that indefinable peace. Together we try to make life’s journey Sharing thoughts for us alone. Loving, caring, empathy pave the way To inner peace and unknown destiny. The future shrouded in mystery remains An unknown entity not yet revealed. What e’er it brings to her and me I’m grateful – more – for love, for eternity. © Keith Pritchard Dr Keith Pritchard Keith Pritchard I met Keith in 2009 on a “Great Rail Journeys” vacation, cruising the river Rhone in France. He was our indefatigable Tour Manager who added extra value to our week on the river. He read my Website page on the loss of our daughter and sent me a poem he wrote some time ago at a low period of his own life. Lionel Beck November 2009 Made with Xara Web Designer
